IAS Harpreet Singh Success Story- Indian Administrative Service Harpreet Singh Harpreet Singh (28) of Doraha city has created new history by securing first position in Punjab in UPSC exam. He is the first youth to pass the tough UPSC exam from Doraha. Harpreet has achieved 19th rank nationwide. Harpreet’s father Malvinder Singh and mother Gurpreet Kaur, living in Dashmesh Nagar of Doraha, are not happy with their son’s brilliant achievement. He said that his son had earlier served as ACP in BSF. Last year, he started serving as Assistant Director General Foreign Trade in the ITS Department after achieving 454 rank in the Union Public Service Commission examination.

The entire Ludhiana was illuminated with parents
Parents said that Harpreet, who does BTech from Thomper College, Patiala, does everything with hard work and dedication. Harpreet Singh, along with the parents, illuminated the name of the entire Ludhiana. His dream was to pass the UPSC exam and reach a higher position in which he has succeeded. Now he will serve the country by becoming an IAS. On Harpreet’s success, Doraha Nagar Consul head Bant Singh Daburji, former head Inderjit Singh Kala, Pritam Singh Jaggi, Jeenu Doraha, Maninder Pal Singh Vicky expressed happiness saying that Harpreet Singh has illuminated the name of Doraha. He is the first young man from Doraha to make history by passing the tough examinations of the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission).
After graduation, Harpreet started preparations
After Graduation, Harpreet decided to pursue a career in the field of civil service. After taking this decision, he completed graduation in 2013 and moved to Chandigarh with his friend. Here, he also joined the coaching of UPSC, when he got an offer of a job as a software engineer from IBM Company. Harpreet left coaching and went to join the job.
This was the time when he gave his first ambassador but his selection stopped after coming to the pre. They crossed the first stage but did not reach beyond it. Meanwhile, Harpreet was also giving second entrance exam and was getting selected in most, in both of his later attempts, Harpreet reached the interview round but never retreated.

Then Harpreet got selected in CAPF exam and got BSF allot. Here he joined the post of Assistant Commandant, but throughout this journey, he continued preparations. Then in the fourth exam, Indian Administrative Service Harpreet was selected in the Union Public Service Commission examination but he was still not satisfied with his rank, he joined the ITS service leaving BSF Assistant Commandant and kept preparing. This time was extremely difficult for Harpreet, when he used to stay till the interview. He has created history by cranking UPSC.

Harpreet advises other candidates to never lose self-confidence and stay engaged during this journey, sometimes there is family pressure to do another job, sometimes others feel that others have become smaller settlements than us. We are still here, but do not panic with these thoughts, these highs and lows are all part of them, but the one who wins does not panic. In the end Harpreet advises the other candidates to keep trying continuously without stopping, if you are working sincerely then you will definitely be selected tomorrow or not.
