New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President JP Nadda on Friday welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision in which 12 BJP MLAs were elected to the Maharashtra Assembly. termed the suspension as ‘unconstitutional’ and ‘irrational’.
In a series of tweets, Nadda said that the Supreme Court stopping the Maha Vikas Aghadi government’s actions against the constitution and democracy of Maharashtra is a “victory of truth”. Congratulating the BJP MLAs, he said that the BJP will continue to raise its voice against the unconstitutional activities of the Maharashtra government.

“I heartily welcome the Supreme Court’s decision to quash the suspension of 12 MLAs of Maharashtra BJP fighting for the rights of the Other Backward Classes in the Monsoon Session of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. BJP has always been fighting for the rights of the people, under the Indian Constitution and democracy. The Supreme Court on Friday said that the proposal to suspend 12 BJP MLAs after the period of the remaining session of July 2021 is “unconstitutional” and “irrational”.

The top court delivered its verdict on the petitions of 12 MLAs, who had challenged the one-year suspension from the state assembly. The MLAs were suspended from the Assembly on July 5 last year for misbehaving with the presiding officer Bhaskar Jadhav in the Speaker’s chamber.
