The Duke of Sussex has instructed bereaved kids of armed forces members that they’re “not alone” and that he shares a bond with them after shedding a father or mother.
Harry penned an emotional letter to kids who’re members of Scotty’s Little Soldiers, a charity for bereaved British Forces kids, on Remembrance Sunday.
He stated they’re all in his “thoughts and heart” and revealed one of many methods he has personally discovered to manage has been “through community and talking about my grief”.
The letter reads: “As many of us observe and reflect on Remembrance Sunday, I wanted to write to you and let you know you are all in my thoughts and heart today.
“We share a bond even with out ever assembly each other, as a result of we share in having misplaced a father or mother.
“I know first-hand the pain and grief that comes with loss and want you to know that you are not alone.
“While troublesome emotions will come up at this time as we pay tribute to heroes like your mum or dad, I hope you’ll find consolation and power in realizing that their love for you lives and shines on.
“Whenever you need a reminder of this, I encourage you to lean into your friends at Scotty’s Little Soldiers.
“One of the methods I’ve discovered to manage has been by group and speaking about my grief, and I could not be extra grateful and relieved that you’ve got wonderful folks strolling beside you all through your journey.”
Harry continued: “We all know some days are harder than others, but together those days are made easier.
“Today and each day, I love and respect all of the women and men who’ve given their lives in service of us – particularly these in your loved ones.
“I am also incredibly proud of you for being the best example in remembering them.”
