Two Haitian Americans have been arrested in connection with the assassination of Haiti President Jovenel Moise. One of them was a former bodyguard at the Canadian Embassy in Port-au-Prince. A senior Haiti official gave this information. Significantly, on Wednesday, President Jovenal Mois and his wife were attacked in the capital by entering their house. The President died in this attack, while his injured wife had to be taken to America for treatment.
Haiti’s Elections Minister Mathias Pierre said Haiti-American James Solages was one of six people arrested in connection with the assassination of the president. He told that the remaining four suspects are residents of Colombia. He said the oldest suspect is 55-year-old, while 35-year-old Solesz is the youngest suspect. President was assassinated by entering the house
Haiti’s interim Prime Minister Claude Joseph said on Wednesday that President Jovenal Mois and his wife were attacked in a house in Port-au-Prince. Joseph told that this attack happened at one o’clock in the late night according to local time. The President was assassinated at his home by English and Spanish speaking foreigners, he said. The first lady was injured in the attack. The attack threatened to create instability in Haiti, which is already facing gang violence and political instability. Joseph said that now he has taken over the power of the country and urged the people to maintain peace. He also emphasized that the police and the army will protect the people.
