Singapore experts believe so.
Singapore, The new and more infectious form of Coronavirus, ‘Omicron’, may have the highest number of cases in 2022. At the same time, it is defeating the immunity more than the ‘Delta’ form of the virus. Singapore experts believe so. The World Health Organization (WHO) has called on the world to come together to end the COVID-19 global (Covid-19) pandemic next year.
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told reporters in Geneva on Monday, “2022 will be the year when we completely eliminate the global pandemic.” Conversely, experts in Singapore say a lot depends on how dangerous the ‘Omicron’ form is. He also said that trying to predict when the global pandemic will end is “futile”.

Public health expert and associate professor Natasha Howard said, “It appears that in 2022, the world will have the highest number of cases of ‘oomicron’ form.” He said that the ‘Omicron’ form is more contagious and is more resistant to disease than the ‘Delta’ form.
Howard said, “With the increased spread of ‘Omicron’, the number of infections and hospitalizations can increase. Its effects are still unclear, but it suggests that the global pandemic is yet to be contained, and new forms are needed until anti-COVID-19 vaccines and ‘booster’ doses reach every eligible person in the world. The apprehension of coming forward will remain.”
