The New England Patriots plan to honor former quarterback Tom Brady at their 2023 dwelling opener, staff proprietor Robert Kraft introduced Thursday.
Brady gained six Super Bowls throughout his 20 seasons with the Patriots. He left for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020 and performed three seasons with them earlier than retiring in February.
“I invited him back to come here and be with us at the opening game and let the fans in New England thank him for the great service he gave us,” Kraft stated on NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football.”
“It will be the beginning of many celebrations to honor Tom Brady and say thank you for what he did for us.”
The 2023 NFL schedule is about to be introduced Thursday at 8 p.m. ET. Brady, 45, beforehand returned to Foxborough, Mass., when the Buccaneers performed the Patriots in 2021 — a recreation Tampa Bay gained 19-17.
The Patriots chosen Brady within the sixth spherical of the 2000 NFL Draft. He gained three MVPs, 5 Super Bowl MVPs and threw 541 of his NFL-record 649 landing passes with New England.
Brady gained his seventh Super Bowl title with the Buccaneers after the 2020 season. He initially introduced his retirement after the 2022 season however returned to play another 12 months.
In February, Kraft stated he hoped Brady would signal a symbolic one-day contract to formally retire as a Patriot, telling CNN, “Not only do I want it, our fans are clamoring for it.”
Brady plans to start broadcasting video games as an NFL analyst with Fox in 2024.
