Air India: Difficulties remain on the front of providing vegetarian meals to Indian passengers for Air India. Vegetarian food is considered a sensitive issue for Indians.
Last week, an attendant on Air India’s London-Ahmedabad flight found that the catering company concerned had rigged the order and uploaded mostly non-vegetarian meals. The London-based Catering Company, which provides meals in flight, had kept 28 non-vegetarian and 4 vegetarian meals on aircraft operating flight AI-172 on 31 March.
Such a mistake in keeping the miles
A source said that the airline’s order was the opposite i.e. 28 vegetarian and 4 non-vegetarian meals were ordered.
Elon Musk Posts Twitter Poll For “Edit” Button, CEO Said – Vote Carefully
The source said, “The meals were loaded into the lunch oven cage, which was in the chiller cart and for the second meal service. The oven cage was covered with a big paper which clearly read ’28 Veg and 4 Non Veg’.” Cabin crew were alerted to a recent food disturbance, which led two flight attendants to check the food and find out that the catering company had messed up the flight before it took off.
Crew members corrected this mistake
The source said, “The crew immediately informed the captain and the airline station manager. After that the catering company sent the correct order. Fortunately for the caterer, the number of passengers on the flight was less. He said, due to this the flight got delayed by 20 minutes, but fortunately the flight did not take off with 28 non-vegetarian meals. There has been no response from Air India in this regard.
A week ago, Jain family was served non-vegetarian food
A similar incident had come to the fore last week as well. A Jain family was served non-vegetarian food instead of vegetarian on an Air India flight. After complaining about this, two crew members were banned from boarding the flight. The incident was recorded by a passenger, which went viral on social media.
