The Cape man who suffered traumatic accidents to his leg and hand from a fireworks explosion is now dealing with prison prices for having fireworks in Massachusetts.
On the Fourth of July, West Yarmouth man Phat Truong sustained critical accidents from exploding mortar fashion fireworks in his yard. The 40-year-old man was transported to a Boston medical facility to get handled for critical, life-threatening accidents.
Now following a police investigation, prison prices have been filed towards Truong for illegal possession of fireworks.
“All fireworks are illegal in Massachusetts for private residents,” Yarmouth Police mentioned in a press release.
“Massachusetts law prohibits the possession, use, and sale of fireworks by unlicensed individuals, even if you buy them legally in another state,” police added. “Leave fireworks to the professionals.”
The police investigation was performed by the Yarmouth Police Department, Yarmouth Fire Department, Massachusetts State Police and the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
On the eve of the Fourth of July, Chelsea firefighters responded to a residential hearth brought on by unlawful fireworks. The Mass State Police Bomb Squad was referred to as to safe and get rid of further fireworks that had been hidden close by.
The Massachusetts Department of Fire Services posted, “Don’t ruin your summer — or anyone else’s — with a fire, injury, or worse, and don’t risk a day in court and a fine: Leave fireworks to the professionals!”
