Akola. The National Pulse Polio Vaccination Campaign to be held on Sunday 23 January was postponed due to increasing corona infection. A government order was received in this regard. This campaign will now be launched on Sunday, February 27, 2022. The health system of the district is fully prepared for this campaign for Do Drop Zindagi.
In the month of January, the outbreak of corona was increasing in the district, on the other hand, the corona vaccination campaign was intensified in urban and rural areas. As a result of this, now gradually the third wave of corona is decreasing. As per the government order, the National Pulse Polio Vaccination Campaign, which was postponed on 23 January, will now be run on 27 February. For this campaign, a vaccination plan has been prepared by the District Health Department.
For this, 1123 booths have been made, this information has been given by District Vaccination Officer Dr. Manish Sharma. Under this campaign, children from zero to five years of age will be given polio doses. Health system is ready for this in all the five districts of Amravati division. Health officials have been instructed to follow the COVID rules at the vaccination booths while administering the polio dose.
Meanwhile, a stock of 12 lakh 9 thousand vaccines has been made available to Amravati division for this polio vaccination campaign, this information has been given by Rajendra Ingle, Senior Pharmaceutical Officer of the Deputy Director of Health. 1123 booths set up in the district
According to the information received, 1 lakh 34 thousand 459 children of zero to five years of age are to be given polio dose in the municipal area of the district except the municipal area. For this, 561 booths with three members and 562 booths with two members, in this way a total of 1123 booths have been made. 2807 health workers will be deployed at these booths. Apart from this, supervisors, employees are also ready for home visit. Training of staff for vaccination has been completed.
12.09 lakh vaccines available
The material required for this vaccination has been distributed by the vaccination officers to the concerned staff. These vaccines are kept in refrigeration machines to keep the cold chain regular. Senior Pharmaceutical Officer Rajendra Ingle said that at present 12 lakh 9 thousand 4 vaccines are available in these storage machines. He said that meanwhile, an additional stock of 82 thousand vaccines has been received for Akola Municipal Corporation and 91 thousand for Amravati Municipal Corporation.
