On the first day of IPL Mega Auction-2022, Marquee Set Players 2022 attracted all the franchise team of IPL. And Shreyas Iyer sold at the biggest price among the players of this list. While Harshal Patel, who won the Purple Cap of the season by performing brilliantly in the second leg of the IPL 2021 tournament played in UAE, became rich in the first day’s auction, while Mr. IPL Suresh Raina ( Experienced and stalwart players like Mr. IPL Suresh Raina, Steve Smith and Shakib Al Hasan remained unsold.
Harshal Patel was bought back by Royal Challengers Bangalore for a huge amount of Rs 10.75 crore. Nitish Rana has also been included in his team once again after being bought by Kolkata Knight Riders KKR for Rs 8 crore. The new IPL team ‘Lucknow Super Giants’ (Lucknow Super Giants LSG) bought West Indies’ sharp all-rounder Jason Holder for Rs 8.75 crore.
Apart from these, West Indies’ great batsman Shimron Hetmyer was taken by Rajasthan Royals for a whopping amount of Rs 8.50 crore. All-rounder Dwayne Bravo was once again included in his team by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by bidding for Rs 4.40 crores. Rajasthan Royals has also bought Devdutt Padikkal, former opener of Royal Challengers Bengaluru RCB, for Rs 7.75 crore.

Two former captains left unsold on the first day
Veteran batsman Suresh Raina (Former Captain Gujarat Lions) and Australian batsman Steve Smith, fondly called ‘Mr. IPL’, went unsold on the first day of IPL Mega Auction-2022 auction. Apart from these two former regular captains, Bangladesh cricket team all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and David Miller, who made a splash in the IPL tournament, also did not find any buyers on the first day.
