Nagpur. After the end of the time for objections and suggestions regarding the municipal elections, they will be heard on February 26. After the division composition is finalized on March 2, the round of meetings of political parties has started due to the possibility of division reservation soon. While the Nationalist Congress took a review meeting of the city unit in Mumbai, the core committee meeting was also taken by the BJP. While NCP state president Jayant Patil indicated to fight on his own in Nagpur Municipal Corporation, the BJP also appealed to the workers to contact the voters by going door-to-door. With the beginning of the round of meetings of political parties, now the election atmosphere has started heating up.
Chief officials called Mumbai
Nationalist Youth Congress city president Shailendra Tiwari told that Duneshwar Pethe, Praveen Kunte, Laxmi Savarkar, Rajendra Jain, Varsha Nikam Nikhil Thackeray were called to Mumbai for a review regarding the municipal elections. State President Jayant Patil inquired about the party’s position and election strategy in view of the municipal elections. Patil said that one should get ready to fight on his own. Tickets should be given to more and more youth and loyal workers of the party. Pethe said that half a dozen councilors of other parties are in touch to come to the NCP. NCP will remain in the role of kingmaker in the municipal elections.
Target to win more than 120 seats
On the one hand, while the NCP met in Mumbai, the core committee of the BJP also met in which city president Praveen Datke appealed to the door-to-door contact voters to meet the target of winning more than 120 seats. He said that through Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Devendra Fadnavis, information about the development works done by the Municipal Corporation should be made available to the public. Conveners of all 58 divisions were also present in the meeting held at Dattopant Thengdi Auditorium, Reshambagh. Apart from these, Organization Minister Upendra Kothekar, Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari, Sandeep Joshi, Sanjay Bhende, Rajesh Bagdi, Dharampal Meshram, Archana Dehankar etc. were present.
