New Delhi: Winter has started in North India. A layer of fog was seen frozen in the capital Delhi this morning with a drop in temperature. Also a cold wind is blowing. Due to which the weather has become even colder. The Meteorological Department (IMD) says that the mercury will drop further by the end of this week. Cold has also increased in Punjab and Mumbai.
It is to be known that earlier the maximum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 19.8, three below normal. While the minimum temperature was recorded at 8.7 degree Celsius above normal. IMD says that there may be shallow fog in Delhi today. Delhi has recorded AQI of 339. That is, the air of Delhi-NCR is in the ‘very poor’ category.

As per IMD, Delhi is likely to experience ‘shallow fog’ today with the mercury dropping to as low as 8°C.

At the same time, severe cold has started in Punjab too. With the mercury falling, a thick layer of fog has engulfed Amritsar. In many places people were seen sitting near the fire to escape the cold. Now people in Mumbai have started feeling the cold. Mumbai is also feeling cold due to the winds coming from the east.
