International Flights Resume: If you are planning to travel abroad this summer vacation, then there is good news for you. The central government has allowed regular international flights to resume once after two years from March 24. The Government of India has announced the resumption of scheduled commercial international passenger flights to/from India with effect from March 27, 2022.
According to the news agency ANI, after nearly two years, the Government of India has decided to once again resume international commercial flights in the country from March 27 in compliance with the Corona Guidelines.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has suspended international commercial flights with effect from 23 March 2020 in view of the COVID pandemic. The DGCA, in a circular issued on February 28, had extended the ban on international commercial flights till further orders.
However, under the air bubble arrangement, special passenger flights are operating between India and around 40 countries since July 2020. The aviation ministry had earlier announced plans to resume regular international flights from December 15, 2021, but canceled that order due to a surge in Omicron cases.

The DGCA in January extended the suspension of international flights to and from India till February 28 in view of the rising coronavirus cases across the world. The scheduled international passenger flights in the country are suspended since March 23, 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) had earlier on November 26 last year announced the resumption of scheduled international passenger flights in India from December 15, 2021. A day after this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the DGCA to review their decision amid growing concerns due to the Omicron variant of Corona. Thereafter this decision was withdrawn.
