Akola. District and Sessions Judge V.D. Pimplekar sentenced the accused to 10 years imprisonment for unnatural rape with a minor. Punjabrao Rathod (55), a native of Wadali Deshmukh in Akot tehsil, had harassed a 16-year-old boy resident of Murtijapur town police station on July 14, 2019 by unnaturally raping him.
Similarly, he was threatened with death for telling anyone in this context. Due to which the boy did not tell it to anyone for a few days. But when the child’s mother came to know about this, she took the child into confidence and asked him about it. After this, reaching the Murtijapur police station and lodged a complaint against the accused.
After medical examination, the police had registered a case against the accused Punjabrao Rathod under various sections. PSI Sangeeta Gawande of Murtijapur police station filed a charge sheet in the court in this case. The District and Sessions Court, after hearing the arguments of both the sides, on the basis of solid evidence found against the accused, sentenced him to 10 years rigorous imprisonment under section 377 and Rs. Fine, 10 years imprisonment under section 3 of POSCO and Rs 50,000.
