New Delhi: The havoc of Corona virus continues in Delhi, the capital of the country. Delhi Police officers and policemen (Police Officials Covid Positive) are also continuously coming in the grip of this virus. According to ANI, only between January 1 and January 12, about 1700 personnel of Delhi Police have become corona positive. The news agency has quoted Delhi Police as saying that, till now about 1700 policemen have come under the grip of this virus. These include Delhi Police personnel including Public Relations Officer and Additional Commissioner Chinmoy Biswal.
In fact, in the last few weeks, there has been a huge increase in the cases of corona in Delhi. Amidst the increasing cases of corona, the process of many government officials and employees being corona positive continues. According to a report, there are more than 80,000 personnel in Delhi Police. Recently, Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana issued the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to prevent the spread of corona virus among police personnel.

As per the SOP, all police personnel should wear face masks while on duty, follow social distancing and wash/sanitize hands properly. It said, workers who have not taken the dose of anti-COVID-19 vaccine due to medical reasons can again seek the opinion of doctors for vaccination. Apart from this, there has been news of corona attack in Delhi jails as well. .

According to a report, many prisoners and employees in three jails of Delhi have become corona positive. In three jails of Delhi, 66 prisoners and 48 employees have been found infected with the corona virus. Officials gave this information on Tuesday. Sandeep Goel, Director General of Delhi Prisons said, “The condition of none of the infected is critical. We are taking all precautionary measures related to COVID-19.”
According to the data shared by the jail authorities, of the 66 inmates found infected till Monday, 42 are in Tihar and 24 in Mandoli jail. Of the 48 employees found infected, 34 are from Tihar, eight from Mandoli Jail and six from Rohini Jail. To prevent the spread of infection in Tihar, Mandoli and Rohini jail premises, the prison dispensaries have been converted into ‘Covid Care Centres’, officials said.
