The market cap of the top 10 companies of the BSE Sensex has lost Rs 2.53 lakh crore last week. During this, there was a tremendous sell-off in the domestic market amid a sharp decline in the global market. The 30-share BSE Sensex lost nearly 4 per cent last week due to selling by foreign portfolio investors (FPIs). Last week, the Sensex fell by 2,185.85 points, or 3.57 per cent. On the other hand, Nifty was in loss of 638.60 points or 3.49 percent.
Due to the fall in the stock market, the market cap of the top 10 companies of BSE has declined by Rs 2,53,394.63 crore. Last week, the m-cap of Reliance Industries came down from Rs 40,974.25 crore to Rs 16,76,291.69 crore.
IT sector companies Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Infosys collectively lost Rs 1,09,498.10 crore in their market cap. The market cap of TCS declined to Rs 14,18,530.72 crore. Similarly, the market cap of Infosys stood at Rs 7,51,144.40 crore.

There has been a loss of Rs 29,239.04 crore in the market cap of the country’s top banks HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and SBI. HDFC Bank’s m-cap declined by Rs 13,563.15 crore to Rs 8,42,876.13 crore. At the same time, the m-cap of State Bank of India (SBI) came down by Rs 4,863.91 crore to Rs 448,729.47 crore. The m-cap of ICICI Bank declined by Rs 10,811.98 crore to Rs 5,58,699.39 crore.

The m-cap of Hindustan Unilever Limited declined by Rs 9,938.77 crore to Rs 5,45,622.08 crore and that of Bajaj Finance declined by Rs 27,653.67 crore to Rs 4,45,033.13 crore. HDFC’s market cap declined by Rs 22,003.75 crore to Rs 4,69,422.38 crore.
The m-cap of the telecom sector’s Bharti Airtel declined by Rs 14,087.05 crore to Rs 3,81,723.36 crore.

Reliance Industries ranked first in the ranking of top 10 companies last week. This is followed by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), HDFC Bank, Infosys, ICICI Bank, Hindustan Unilever Limited, HDFC, State Bank of India (SBI), Bajaj Finance (Bajaj Finance) and Bharti Airtel.
