New Delhi. After 180 new cases of ‘Omicron’, a new form of corona virus (Corona Pandemic), were reported in India in the last 24 hours, the cases of this form in the country increased to 961. This is the highest number of Omicron cases reported in a day. Of these, 320 people have become infection free or have migrated to other places. These cases were reported in 22 states and union territories.

The Union Health Ministry said on Thursday that Delhi had the highest number of 263 cases followed by Maharashtra with 252, Gujarat 97, Rajasthan 69, Kerala 65 and Telangana 62. According to the updated data released by the ministry at 8 am, after 13,154 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in India in a day, the number of infected in the country has increased to 3,48,22,040. At the same time, the number of patients under treatment increased to 82,402.
After the death of 268 more infected, the death toll has increased to 4,80,860. More than 13 thousand daily cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the country after 49 days. Earlier, on November 11, 13,091 new cases of infection were reported in 24 hours. According to the data, the daily cases of COVID-19 in the country for 63 consecutive days are less than 15 thousand. The number of patients under treatment has increased to 82,402, which is 0.24 percent of the total cases of infection. An increase of 5,400 has been registered in the number of patients under treatment for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. The national recovery rate of patients is 98.38 percent.
The number of infected in the country had crossed 20 lakh on August 7 last year, 30 lakh on August 23 and more than 40 lakh on September 5. At the same time, the total cases of infection had crossed 50 lakh on 16 September, 60 lakh on 28 September, 70 lakh on 11 October, 80 lakh on 29 October and 90 lakh on 20 November. In the country, these cases crossed one crore on December 19, crossed two crore on May 4 this year and crossed three crore on June 23.
