With extensive experience in the technology sector, Wad and Kamat will have important responsibilities at Binance. WAD will oversee the development of Secure and Fast Web 3 services and Kamat will strengthen the exchange’s product strategy. Kamat has previously led the product team developing Google’s Gmail for mobile. “I am very excited to move into the financial sector from communications. Web 3 is exciting and I am very happy to join Binance to lead the tech team,” Wad said in a LinkedIn post. Kamat has also shown enthusiasm about his new innings. “Web 3 will be very different. It can be called the next era of the Internet. It will have a major stake in blockchain technology and will support new technologies like cryptocurrencies and the metaverse,” he said.
In recent months, many large companies have hired professionals to expand into Web3. In addition, music streaming firms Spotify and Microsoft have invited applications for Web3-linked positions. Facebook’s company Meta has filed eight trademark applications for providing Web 3 services. These include a dating app specially designed for crypto investors. This is part of Meta’s efforts to strengthen its position in the crypto and metawork segments.
Meta plans to bring new products and services on blockchain technology that work for the Web 3 industry. The company is expected to launch new social networking platforms, computer software, e-commerce services, telecom services for digital asset holders as well as offer meta-related advertising platforms. Apart from this, preparations are also being made for entertainment and digital publishing services supporting virtual reality.
