As we know, the COVID outbreak has widely affected the availability of beds in hospitals. In the current scenario it is really difficult to get a bed in a hospital. And because of this, Shahnawaz saw many people losing their loved ones. The important thing is the oxygen cylinder because most serious patients can be saved if oxygen levels are taken into consideration immediately after their health deteriorates.
Ever since the lockdown started in the country, Shahnawaz was already doing social work like distributing food, rational things, milk etc. to the needy people. They put all their savings into it and even borrowed some money so that they could do their work.
In view of the worsening situation in the hospital, he bought about 20 oxygen cylinders for 2 lakh rupees of his deposits. He then posted on various social media groups about giving free oxygen cylinders to needy patients. His posts became so viral on social media that he started receiving countless requests, although he did not have enough money to meet the needs of all places. Then he decided to sell his only remaining asset, the car, which cost around Rs 22 lakh. With the money that came, they bought some more gas cylinders, but the demand was increasing continuously.
In no time, they started getting financial help from the people as well. His work was also shown promptly by the media. He has also started a crowdfunding campaign.
