The country’s leading automaker Tata Motors has introduced a new avatar of Tata Safari in February this year. The new Safari is completely different from the old generation and despite not being as rugged as this, this SUV is quite popular across the country and people are constantly buying it. Regarding the demand for this car, the company confirmed that it has produced a total of 10,000 units of this SUV.
Tata Motors said that it has launched the 10,000th units of the new Safari from its manufacturing facility in Pune. According to the company, it rolled out only 100 units in February due to the problems caused by the Corona epidemic. This means that the company has produced a total of 9,900 units in less than the next four months. Currently, Safari is one of the best selling 6 or 7-seater high-end SUVs in its category with the current market share of 25.2 percent. The company said that along with its partner Harrier, the new Safari currently holds a 41.2 percent share in the ‘high SUV’ segment.
Shailesh Chandra, President, Passenger Vehicles Business Unit, Tata Motors said, “We are thrilled to reach this important milestone for the new Safari in a span of four months. We have achieved this milestone during one of the most difficult periods in our country’s long history. The production of the 10,000th unit is the fruit of the hard work of several teams, which has led to the re-introduction of this splendid model.
Engine and Features of Tata Safari
This SUV is available in both 6 seater and 7 seater options and it has a powerful Kryotec turbo diesel engine of 2.0 liters capacity, which generates 170hp power and 350Nm torque. This engine comes with 6 speed manual transmission and 6 speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Talking about its exterior, its design and styling is very similar to the Harrier SUV. A bold grille with tri-arrow pattern has been given in the front of the car. Apart from this, thin LED DRLs and projector headlamps are available in it. The rear of the car has been given a completely new design and sunroof. Along with this, it has been given Xenon HID projector headlamps, chrome studded tri arrow front grille, twin light LED tail lamps. Apart from this, 18-inch alloy wheels and multi transaction modes have been given in it.

Features like 8.8 inch floating island infotainment system, premium 320 W JBL audio system, mood lighting, 6 way powered driver seat have been provided in the cabin of this car. It is available in three colors namely Royal Blue, White and Grey. The starting price of Tata Safari 2021 SUV starts at Rs 14.69 lakh which goes up to Rs 21.25 lakh (ex-showroom).
