Nandgaon Khandeshwar. Lalpari of Maharashtra’s Janvahini State Transport Department is closed for the last 40 days. A bandh movement has been started by the employees demanding merger in the state government. Due to the closure of ST, private drivers are charging double the price. Due to which the school students are suffering the most. In the absence of ST, students are not able to go to school. Due to which the demand for starting ST bus is being made by the common citizens.
Senior citizens get facilities
ST Mahamandal is the lifeline of rural areas of Maharashtra. All the people from rural area to city use ST to commute. Due to which students, disabled, senior citizens get convenience in travel. Due to which they also help to live. Despite being for more than a month, ST’s strike is not taking the name of ending. Therefore, measures should be taken as soon as possible. – Babarao Ingle, Senior Citizen Shivani Rasulapur
Private vehicles charge double the money
Since ST’s strike started, private transporters are taking advantage of it. The prices are being charged at double the rates. The government should end this strike at the earliest. After resolving the employees, further fight should be done in the court. The public is suffering because of this. – Devendra Kanthale, social worker
ST workers do not drag the strike much
ST workers should fight against the injustice being meted out to them but they should not be dragged for much. The government has accepted some demands, they should be satisfied. On the other hand the public is suffering. If ST Mahamandal becomes private then traffic will also become private. Due to which even ST workers will not be able to ask for a higher salary increase. – Omkar Thackeray, Nandgaon Khandeshwar
