Agarwal (37) has joined the ranks of Indians heading a large American tech company. One of the world’s top Internet companies is Google’s core company Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.
Twitter co-founder, Jack Dorsey, announced on Monday that he was leaving the company. Dorsey had pulled this social network company out of trouble during the government of former US President Donald Trump and also foiled an activist investor’s attempt to remove him.
In addition to increasing the growth of the company, Agarwal will have a challenge to deal with the ongoing controversy over free speech. He joined the company in 2011 and became its chief technical officer in 2017. In his message to the staff, Dorsey said that Parag Agarwal has been involved in every important decision related to the company and has helped strengthen the company. Dorsey said, “Agarwal leads with a passion and I learn from him every day. I have a lot of confidence in him as our CEO.”
In his message to the company’s staff, Agarwal talks about his knowledge of the company and his association with the employees. He said on the company’s email, “I joined this company 10 years ago. There were less than 1,000 employees then. I’ve seen ups and downs, challenges and roadblocks during this time. I am a strong influence of Twitter, our continued progress and our Looking forward to the exciting opportunities ahead.” Aggarwal did his PhD from Stanford University in the US after obtaining a degree from the Indian Institute of Technology.
