God has rewarded every person with some quality, the only difference is that some people take up the passion to carve their own merits. One thing is true that only those whose goals are set in life are able to taste success and no one can escape from the magic of their skills.
You will remember that in childhood, magicians used to come to our schools to show magic games and all the children used to do abra’s dabra as soon as they reached home after seeing their arts. Even today, hearing the magic word in our mind creates the image of a man with a big mustache with a big hat, but our present-day personality is such who has completely changed that image. We are talking about the country’s only sorceress Suhani Shah. Who is known today not only in the country but also abroad for her magic shows and counseling techniques? You will be surprised to know that Suhani, who studied only till class I, has also written five books in English.
Her innocent, beautiful face has not only changed the image of a magician, but Suhani’s skill has changed the very definition of magic. Suhani was born in Udaipur, Rajasthan and shortly after that, due to business, her family moved to Ahmedabad. Since childhood, Suhani has had a quality that she does the work she does with full concentration, it can be gauged from the fact that Suhani had been a state level swimmer before becoming a magician.
During an exclusive conversation with canfolios, Suhani told that “I used to try everything new since childhood. Once I saw a magic show on TV and went and told my father that I also want to do magic. At that time, my father thought that I was small and speaking like this, but when I told the same thing to him two or three times, he also felt that I was serious about becoming a magician. My parents have always supported me and they also welcomed my decision to become a magician. My father always used to tell me one thing that whatever you want to do big, do magic too, then do big magic shows and if you want to swim, be a champion, always keep your goal big.
Suhani’s confidence increased when she got family support. He got to learn a great thing from his family members that whatever he does, give his hundred percent in it. If you are not able to do it well then don’t do that work. Suhani’s parents helped her a lot in becoming a magician, first of all, they got the stage equipment built and got some assistants who could help them. After 6 months of practice, at the age of just 7 years, Suhani organized the first magic show in Ahmedabad on 22 October 1997 and its chief guest was the then Chief Minister of Gujarat Shankar Singh Vaghela. Suhani’s first show itself made her very popular. The media also cooperated fully and with this the country got its first female magician.
After the success of that show, Suhani never looked back. Suhani says that “I have not taken any training in magic from anywhere because such training is not given in our country right now. My mother supported me a lot though she has nothing to do with magic, she is a designer. I have learned something or the other from the music man, the assistants, the cameraman.”
But it is said that everything has two sides, to get something, one has to lose something. Suhani was so serious about magic that she had to leave her schooling to learn something new every day, as well as she appeared in her show. Due to being busy, I could not even go to school. In such a situation, it was inevitable for people to react negatively and till that time witchcraft was not even considered such a respectable field. Suhani says that “People’s talk kept going on but we were focused on our work. Most of my time was spent in rehearsals and first of all I learned to read blindfolded so that was my first trick which I was very excited about.
Suhani is a magician but she wants to end people’s superstitions. She wants people to learn to believe in themselves. Solve the problems of the people through counseling. He believes that difficult times come in everyone’s life and the same difficult times also inspire to move forward.
Suhani has been showing the game of magic continuously in the country and abroad for 19 years and has been a keynote speaker in seminars in many countries. He himself has invented many tricks to become a magician. Suhani makes the girl disappear on the stage in a moment and during her show, the center of attraction is the ramp walk in which the model’s clothes are changed in an instant. Along with being a magician, she also knows how to do hypnosis, through which she relieves people’s stress.
Suhani also works as a Corporate Trainer where she explains ways to relieve employee concerns and mental stress through meditation. She did not get time to study while doing magic, meditation etc. But she knows very well that education is the most important thing.
Suhani says that “One day my father came and said that you have experienced so much now, so why don’t you write a book. The problem with Suhani was that she knew how to speak but could not read and write, then slowly she started reading and writing. Learning something or the other every day from her team members, she kept on increasing her vocabulary and has become a best seller author today.
Suhani currently lives in Goa and also runs her own meditation center where people from all over the country and abroad come to get relief and peace from mental worries. Not only this, Suhani’s every political activity is also taken care of and she also knows how to express her opinion with impunity.
Suhani believes that “If you believe in someone, then its effect is visible even if you do not believe in magic, faith or blind faith. Magic is not a miracle but sleight of hand and art. which he had learned long ago. Later on, according to her interest, she is continuously doing better. This has been possible only because of practice.”
Today Suhani is the first and youngest magician of the country and she has achieved this success through constant practice and determination.
