Vape adverts throughout social media platforms “need to stop” and advertisers pleading ignorance just isn’t an excuse, the promoting regulator has warned.
The Committee of Advertising Practice (CAP) – which regulates non-broadcast adverts – launched a crackdown on e-cigarette advertisers, warning the regulation prohibits them from advertising vapes containing nicotine that aren’t licensed as medicines on most social media.
It is at present unlawful for retailers to promote disposable vapes to under-18s and the gadgets can’t be displayed throughout nearly all media or focused at youngsters.
