A US jail has been positioned underneath an emergency lockdown after about 100 prisoners refused to return to their cells.
Members of a disaster negotiation group are on the jail within the state of Minnesota.
A spokesperson for the state’s Department of Corrections stated on Sunday the particular operations response group had been deployed “out of an abundance of caution”.
The motive prisoners had been refusing to return to their cells at one of many facility’s residing items remained “unclear”, in keeping with the spokesperson.
No accidents had been reported and two officers on the Stillwater correctional facility had been stated to be secure in a safe management space.
They are involved with facility workers and the spokesperson added the scenario was “currently stable”.

Just over 1,200 inmates are on the facility to the southeast of Stillwater, in keeping with division data.
The facility, which was in-built 1914, is the state’s largest close-security establishment for males.
There is a complete of seven residing items on the facility, in keeping with the Department of Corrections’s web site.
The web site notes the power’s position is to offer males with “educational, vocational and industrial programming opportunities during incarceration”.
