Nashik: A contempt petition has been filed in the court against the Municipal Commissioner for violating the decision of the Industrial Court in the transfer of cleaning staff. The court allowed the petition and directed the commissioner to appear before the court on January 17.
Divisional commissioner Radhakrishna Game had transferred 628 employees from Nashik East and Nashik West to other departments while outsourcing 700 employees for road cleaning work. The union had demanded the cancellation of the transfer. But after the commissioner did not agree, the employee development union had filed a case in the Industrial Court. After hearing the side of the petitioners and the municipal administration in the Industrial Court, the transfer of the sanitation workers was postponed.

The contempt petition against the commissioner has been accepted after the association’s claim was found to be true.
