Beijing, Chinese President Xi Jinping told his US counterpart Joe Biden on Friday that the “Ukraine crisis” is not something “we want to see”. Appealed for joint cooperation of US-China for completion.
“The current trend of peace and development is facing serious challenges,” Xi told Biden at the summit held via videoconferencing. The world is neither calm nor stable. Ukraine crisis is not something we want to see.
Xi’s remarks came amid US criticism of Beijing for not condemning the Russian invasion of Ukraine. It is noteworthy that there are close relations between China and Russia.

Xi also appealed to put China-US relations on the right track, going through turmoil on many issues, including Taiwan.
“As a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council and two of the world’s major economies, we must keep China-US relations on the right track,” he said.
However, it is not clear whether he has appealed for an end to the Ukraine crisis as there has been no clarification on his remarks. (agency)
