World Largest Submarine: The world’s largest submarine Belgorod has left on its first intelligence mission. This submarine is equipped with Paramamu bombs.
World’s largest submarine Belgorod
Amidst the ongoing tension with the US and Britain, Russia has sent the world’s largest submarine Belgorod on its first intelligence mission. This is the Belgorod submarine’s first mission at sea since its launch in 2019. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, all sea trials of this submarine have been completed. The 604-foot-long Belgorod, built in the last 30 years, is the world’s largest submarine.
Experts fear that the 79-foot-long Poseidon torpedo deployed inside the submarine could explode underwater and cause a radioactive tsunami at sea. Due to this, waves up to 300 feet can rise in the cities located along the coast. Experts think that even if people survive a tsunami, they may be exposed to radioactive radiation for many years.
Why is this submarine dangerous for Russia’s enemies?
Actually, the Belgorod submarine is not officially part of the Russian Navy. This means that his covert and aggressive actions will be really unacceptable. In such a situation, Russia can refuse to officially recognize any attack by it. The command of the operation of this ship will be in the hands of the Main Directorate of Underwater Research, Russian Intelligence Service.
This institute is known worldwide for gathering intelligence on the enemies of Russia. Each of its six torpedoes is capable of detonating a nuclear explosion of up to two megatons. This power is 130 times more than the American atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima. Specialized in carrying out special missions, this submarine is deployed with intercontinental ballistic missiles, which can destroy big cities like Washington DC and New York in the blink of an eye.
Submarine can enter enemy territory and gather intelligence
The Belgorod submarine deployed six strategic long-range Poseidon nuclear torpedoes. Thanks to this torpedo, the Russian Navy can not only carry out intelligence missions, but is also capable of carrying out a nuclear attack. Underwater, this submarine can act as an unmanned vehicle, which can enter enemy territory and gather intelligence. Poseidon is also known as the Status-6 Oceanic Multipurpose System.
Through this underwater drone, enemy targets can be attacked with conventional and nuclear missiles. In such a situation, the Russian submarine Belgorod can not only adjust its position while maintaining a distance from the enemy’s base, but can also destroy them if needed. The Poseidon underwater drone was presented to the world in 2018 by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
