The International Space Station (NASA) passes by the Sun
The American space agency NASA shared a beautiful picture of the International Space Station (ISS) crossing the Sun. This picture has been made by putting together seven frames passing through the ISS in front of the Sun. In this picture shared by NASA, it can be seen that the International Space Station is visible like a dark spot in front of the orange Sun. The US Space Agency said that on June 25, seven pictures of the ISS were taken from Nellisford, Virginia, which together have made this picture.
According to NASA, during the time this picture was taken, astronauts Shane Kimbrough and Thomas Pesquet were doing a spacewalk outside the space station. During this, both the astronauts spent 6 hours 45 minutes in space. These astronauts have been working for several days to install powerful new solar panels outside the International Space Station. The space agency said that during the time the ISS was orbiting the Sun, its speed was eight kilometers per second.
ISS orbiting the earth
According to the US Space Agency, the ISS is present in orbit at an altitude of 410 km from Earth. Last week, Astronauts attached the first solar wing to the ISS. But there has been a delay in connecting the electrical connections and laying the panels in its entire 19 meter length. These new solar panels have been designed in such a way that they can be laid on the surface like a red carpet. These are completely different from the old panels.
Russia is busy preparing its own space station
On the other hand, the Russian space agency Roscosmos has started construction work on its own space station after getting approval from President Vladimir Putin. The Russian agency claims that its space station will be operational by 2030. Earlier in April 1971, Russia launched a space station named Soyut-1. It is believed that if the new space station project is successful, it will prove to be a milestone in the history of Russian space exploration.
Russia tells ISS ‘dangerous junk’
Since 1998, Russia has operated NASA’s International Space Station along with many other countries including the US. But just a few days ago, Russia had declared the ISS as a dangerous junk for astronauts. After this statement, Russia now needs its own space station. Roscosmos chief Dmitry Rogozin said that if we can put it in orbit according to our plans in 2030, it will be a great success.
