A 15-year-old lady has died after swimming in a reservoir in Merseyside, police say.
Emergency providers had been referred to as to Carr Mill Dam in St Helens at 12.30pm after experiences of a priority for security for a teenage lady who had “got in distress” whereas swimming with pals, Merseyside Police stated.
Chief Inspector Paul Holden stated officers entered the water in an try to seek out the teen.
He stated: “Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, the search culminated in the recovery of the girl’s body.”
“Our sincere condolences go to her family and friends during this tragic time.”
He added the pressure was joined by officers from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service. The lady’s subsequent of kin have been knowledgeable and can be supported by specialist officers, police confirmed.
Police autos, together with an underwater search van, in addition to ambulances and fireplace engines had been parked within the automotive park of a close-by pub because the search happened. A big space was cordoned off to the general public.

Adele Laitak, 50, from Liverpool, stated she had been strolling across the dam when she heard shouting.
She stated: “I heard a girl shouting. It sounded like she was in distress but we couldn’t see anything from where we were. As we came round we saw fire engines.
“It sounded to me like she was saying ‘assist’ however as a result of we had been over the opposite facet of the lake we did not know if it was simply youngsters messing round.
“A police lady who was at the edge of the lake said a child’s gone missing and some women told us two children had gone into the water but one had managed to get out.”
Police stated the dying just isn’t being handled as suspicious and urged urge anybody who was within the space on the time to contact the pressure to allow them to set up what occurred.
