A teenage lady who was allegedly attacked by Iranian morality police for not sporting a headband has died, state media has mentioned.
Armita Geravand, 16, suffered “severe injuries” after an altercation with the so-called morality police at Shohada station within the Iranian capital Tehran on 1 October, based on human rights organisation Hengaw.
Hengaw mentioned Miss Geravand was dragged off a prepare, with the incident captured on CCTV.
Her case has been likened to that of Mahsa Amini, the 22-year-old lady whose loss of life whereas within the custody of morality police prompted nationwide protests final 12 months.
Previously an announcement from the Islamic Republic of Iran News Network had mentioned Miss Geravand was “brain dead”.
Further pictures from Hengaw appeared to point out her in a mattress at Fajr Hospital.
There had been claims her dad and mom had been forbidden from posting any photos of her on social media after the incident, or speaking to human rights teams about what occurred.
