An airport in Russia has been pressured to shut after ‘anti-Israel protesters’ stormed the runway.
Video footage on social media seems to indicate individuals operating via Makhachkala airport within the southern area of Dagestan – many waving Palestinian flags.
Sky News has not been in a position to confirm the clips.
“Unauthorised citizens” broke on to the runway when a Red Wings flight from Tel Aviv was attributable to land on Sunday, in response to Russian media.
All flights from the airport, which is in a predominantly Muslim a part of Russia, had been diverted to others close by, Russian aviation authority Rosaviatsia stated. There had been no accidents reported.
