A rugby participant has died after struggling a cardiac arrest throughout a match in Cambridgeshire.
Emergency companies responded to calls that Arturas Rudys, 27, had collapsed throughout a match at Wisbech Rugby Club on Chapel Road, Wisbech, on Saturday.
Responders carried out CPR and used a defibrillator however he couldn’t be resuscitated and died on the scene.
Diss Rugby Football Club, Wisbech’s opponents within the Eastern Counties First Division fixture, mentioned in a publish on Facebook the sport had been deserted following the incident.
An announcement launched on Wisbech Rugby Club’s web site on Sunday mentioned: “It is with great sadness that the club announces the death of Arturas Rudys during a match played on Saturday 14th October.
“Arturas, aged 27, was a massively valued and revered member of our membership who started his time at Wisbech RFC in 2013.
“Wisbech RFC thanks everyone who helped Arturas in his immediate moments of need yesterday including, club first aiders, teammates, and Diss RFC.
“The membership additionally needs to thank the emergency companies and first responders who attended the scene.
“As a club we are in touch with Arturas’ family to offer our heartfelt sympathies and support.”
His associate, Jolita Kiseliovaite, mentioned the pair had a two-year-old son collectively. A fundraising web page she arrange has raised £6,000.

Club secretary David Dobson described him as a “lad who was eager to improve his game”.
