- Appeal to hand over to NGO
Akola. Nylon manja made of plastic can harm animals, birds and humans. Due to which the use and sale of nylon manja has been banned in the district. This order has been issued by District Magistrate Neema Arora. If any animal or bird gets injured while flying kites, District Magistrate Neema Arora has also appealed to hand over the Save Birds to this service-oriented organization for treatment.
In the order issued by the District Magistrate, it has been said that a strong thread called nylon manja causes damage to bird and human life. Also, many broken pieces of nylon manja fall to the ground, as these pieces do not disintegrate easily, thus obstructing the natural flow of streams and rivers. Also, if a cow or any such animal serves food containing nylon manja, then it can be fatal.
In this way, excessive use of non-degradable plastic threads can also cause fire due to spark due to friction on electric wires, which can lead to power failure, or even an accident. Similarly, wildlife can be threatened. In this context, the Nagpur Bench of the Mumbai High Court has ordered the formation of special squads in each city to strictly enforce the ban on nylon manja.
Accordingly, strict action has been taken against the violators of the ban and instructions have been issued to create awareness about the ban on nylon manja. For this, the District Magistrate has issued orders under Section 5 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986.
