A local Scottish newspaper reported that protesters were heard shouting slogans of ‘Leave our neighbors, let them go’ and ‘Police personnel go home’. Officials said that they are leaving these two people to ensure the safety of all after the deadlock in Glasgow.

Following the demonstration, Scottish Prime Minister Nicola Sturgeon accused the ‘Home Office’ of causing a ‘dangerous and unacceptable situation’ (Indians Arrested in Scotland’s Glasgow). He said, ‘Doing this on the day of Eid, amid the outbreak of COVID-19, but the bigger problem is the dreaded shelter and immigration policy.’ She said that she ‘demands assurances’ from the UK government that they will not reproduce such a dangerous situation.
Three protesters also arrested
Sturgeon said, “When I tried to talk to a junior minister, no assurance was given and no tolerance was shown.” According to the ‘No Evictions Network’ group, three protesters have also been arrested.
