US Pakistan Relations: US troops are withdrawing from Afghanistan in the month of September. That’s why America has asked for an airbase from Pakistan.

Pakistan Rejected Major US Offer: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan has turned down a big offer from America to help the Taliban. The US had asked Imran Khan to provide him a secret military base in Pakistan’s Balochistan province. So that the US intelligence agency CIA can work on its Secret Drone Mission in Afghanistan. In return, America talked about starting interrupted financial aid to Pakistan. But Imran Khan refused even this to save his Taliban friend.
In an interview given to American news website Axios, Imran Khan said that after the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan this year, the CIA cannot be allowed to launch operations from Pakistani soil (US Operations in Afghanistan). Earlier, it was claimed in many reports that Pakistan has given permission to the US to use its airbase so that it can carry out the mission in Afghanistan. It was only after such reports that there was uproar in Pakistan.
CIA director came to Islamabad
For this reason, Imran Khan immediately changed his decision and refused to hand over the airbase to America. US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin also made diligent efforts for the airbase. It was said that CIA Director William Burns even visited Islamabad secretly. Despite this, Pakistan has refused to give the airbase. It is clear from this how deep Pakistan’s relationship with Taliban is.

NSA met last month
It is believed that this refusal of Imran Khan can worsen relations between Pakistan and America. Pakistan’s National Security Advisor Moeed W. Yusuf met US NSA Jake Sullivan in Geneva in the last week of May. Yusuf had talked to Sullivan about strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two countries. He had said that this relationship should be strengthened not on the basis of security but on the basis of economy and trade. But then it was not clear whether the issue of airbase was also involved in this conversation.
