New Delhi: This year’s Republic Day parade will see a replica of Kashi Vishwanath Dham in the tableau of Uttar Pradesh, showcasing the glorious history and culture of the ancient city. The tableau of Uttar Pradesh, based on the theme of 75 years of India’s independence, will also showcase the state’s ‘One District One Product’ (ODOP) program, which aims to preserve indigenous products, arts and handicrafts through skill development programs, officials said. , develop and promote as well as generate employment opportunities.
An Uttar Pradesh official told PTI, “The services of artists from Kolkata were taken to prepare the tableau on 75 years of the country’s independence. The artists prepared the tableau within 20 days despite the unfavorable weather.”
The tableau of Uttar Pradesh will showcase the achievements of skill development and employment under the ODOP program based on the micro, small and medium enterprises policy and industrial development policy of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government. A note on the tableau of Uttar Pradesh reads, “The development in the world famous Kashi Vishwanath Corridor has been displayed.”
The famous terracotta ceramic craft of Gorakhpur will also be displayed in the tableau of Uttar Pradesh. The brass cow at the top of the tableau will represent the metal craft of Moradabad under the ODOP programme. Officials said the central part of the tableau will showcase the culture of offering arghya to the sun and morning prayers by Hindu saints at the ghats of Varanasi.
