A Frenchman who constructed a mannequin of the Eiffel Tower utilizing over 700,000 matchsticks says he has had his efforts rejected by Guinness World Records.
Richard Plaud, 47, mentioned he spent eight years and 4,200 hours assembling 706,900 matches to construct the world’s tallest construction manufactured from matches, measured at 7.19m (23.6ft).

Mr Plaud informed French media outlet TFI he began off the tower with matches purchased commercially, however turned bored with having to chop off their pink ideas one after the other, so ended up contacting the primary French producer to have the wood rods delivered in 15kg containers.
He says he didn’t know this is able to disqualify him from breaking the file.
