A person has been arrested on suspicion of homicide and tried homicide, amid an investigation by counter terrorism cops.
Officers say a person died and one other was attacked within the early hours of Sunday morning within the Tees Street space of Hartlepool.
A 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of homicide and tried homicide and stays in custody.
Cleveland Police are being supported by Counter Terrorism Policing North East as they examine the dying and assault.
The involvement of counter-terrorism officers is because of “initial inquiries”, Cleveland Police mentioned.
The power mentioned in a press release: “Counter Terrorism Policing has deployed its specialist capabilities to help establish what happened.
“It will not be believed that there’s any excellent risk to the general public and the local people related to this incident.
“A cordon remains in place and a search is ongoing at a property in the area.
“The man who was assaulted was taken to hospital and stays there with what are believed to be non-life-threatening accidents.”
