new Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that the entire government machinery in Ukraine is working round the clock to ensure the safety of all Indians. Along with this, he said that India will also help those from neighboring and developing countries who are trapped in the war-torn country of Eastern Europe. According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the Prime Minister made the remarks at a high-level meeting.
The meeting was convened to review the efforts being made under “Operation Ganga” to bring back Indians stranded in the UK. Modi had held a meeting earlier today as well. The government has decided to send Union Ministers Hardeep Singh Puri, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Kiren Rijiju and General VK Singh (Retd) to Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and Moldova respectively to facilitate the process of bringing back Indians.

The Ministry of External Affairs said that Modi took note of it that the first shipment of humanitarian aid would be sent to Ukraine on Tuesday. A statement issued by the ministry said, “The Prime Minister said that the visits of four senior ministers as special envoys to various countries would give energy to the rescue work. This shows the priority of our government.”
Referring to India’s principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, the Prime Minister said that India will also help those from neighboring and developing countries who are stuck in Ukraine and may need assistance, the Ministry of External Affairs said. “The Prime Minister said that the entire government machinery is working round the clock to ensure the safety of all Indians,” the statement said.
