A hostage fled as IDF troops opened hearth on him, a report into the deaths of three kidnapped Israelis says.
Two hostages died within the preliminary volley of gunfire, a brand new report from the Israeli army says, whereas a 3rd died quarter-hour later when he was urged to come back out by the IDF and was fired upon.
Alon Shamriz, Yotam Haim and Samar Talalka died on 15 December within the Gaza City space of Shijaiyah.
Nearly two weeks later, the IDF has revealed the outcomes of its investigation into the incident and the way, it says, the three males ended up being killed by the troopers despatched to deliver them house.
The opening line of the report – launched on Thursday night – says that one of many three males fled the scene after they have been initially shot at.

The man then emerged from a constructing when two IDF troops “who did not hear the order due to noise from a nearby tank”, shot and killed him.
The IDF report additionally says – as was already reported – that the three hostages have been strolling shirtless, and one among them was waving a white flag.
Graphics launched alongside the report seem to indicate what the IDF describes as a “blind spot” within the view of the shooter.

Earlier this month, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu referred to as the incident an “unbearable tragedy” and vowed to proceed “with a supreme effort to return all the hostages home safely”.
Alaa al Talalka, the cousin of Samer Talalka, mentioned his household had had “so many hopes” that he would return safely.
