A fireplace at Bristol Airport’s automobile park has destroyed automobiles and prompted delays to flights.
The blaze broke out within the Silver Zone cark park on Sunday morning.
Avon Fire and Rescue Service stated 11 vehicles have been on fireplace – with 4 or 5 automobiles “completely destroyed”, in keeping with Bristol Live.
Video footage posted on social media confirmed heavy smoke billowing from the automobile park.
The airport runway was closed briefly as a security precaution however has since reopened. Minor delays to flights have been reported.
A spokesperson for the airport informed Sky News a parked automobile had caught fireplace within the open-air automobile park.
“The fire spread to a small number of vehicles,” the spokesperson stated.
“There were no injuries, and the fire was quickly put out by the emergency services.
“We’ll contact the house owners of any broken vehicles as quickly as attainable.”

The fireplace service informed Bristol Live the blaze shouldn’t be being handled as suspicious because it seems to have been attributable to “accidental ignition”.
