Covid Vaccine Updates: Concerns about the corona epidemic are increasing. Now United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres said on Thursday that if the world fights it without mutual cooperation, then the corona virus will not be defeated. He has asked all the countries of the world to focus on vaccination in the coming days and said that by the end of this year i.e. December 2021, 40 percent of the people of the world will have to focus on completing the vaccination. Apart from this, he said in a conversation with reporters in New York that the member countries of the UN should aim for 70 percent by the middle of 2022 next year. This goal has been set by the World Health Organization (WHO).

The impact of vaccine inequality on the economy and health
According to Guterres, the inequality regarding the vaccine is helping the spread of the corona variant and this is affecting the health of the people and the economy around the world. According to an estimate, 98 countries around the world are not in a position to meet the 40 percent vaccination target by the end of the year. There are 40 countries which are not in a position to get even 10 per cent of their population vaccinated by December 31. In low-income countries, less than 4 percent of the population has received the vaccine.
In India, more than 55% have received both doses of the vaccine.
According to the World Health Organization, the vaccination rate in high-income countries is 8 times higher than in African countries. At the current rate, 70 percent of the people in African countries will not be vaccinated even by August 2021. Talking about India, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had informed on Tuesday that more than 55 percent adults of the country have received both doses of the vaccine while 87 percent people have been given the first dose.
