Death rate increased from COVID-19 in Nepal
Nepal Covid-19 Situation: Bodies of people who died of infection during the second wave of corona virus (Covid-19 in Nepal) are coming up in other crematoriums, including the crematorium ghats located near the famous Pashupatinath Temple in Nepal. This information has been given in a report in the media on Friday. The Ministry of Health and Population said on Thursday that 214 more people have lost their lives from COVID-19. The number of people who died due to this epidemic in the country has now increased to 4,466. There have been 431,191 cases of corona virus here.
According to Nepal Army sources, more than 100 dead bodies have been cremated in the Kathmandu Valley in a single day in the last few days. The Kathmandu Post reported that the number of deaths is increasing (Coronavirus) in the last one week, despite cases of infection not increasing much. There may be a shortage of wood
Subhash Karki, chief convener of the electrically operated crematorium by the Pashupati Kshetra Vikas Nyas, said, “We burnt 110 dead bodies overnight.” For the last two weeks, Karki has been working more than the scheduled time. He said, ‘Earlier we used to get maximum 80 bodies and on Tuesday we got 110 bodies. We have only 35 personnel. We are also getting help from Nepal Army (Nepal Coronavirus Situation). If the number of dead bodies increases then there may be a shortage of wood to burn them.
More than 9 thousand cases are coming
The report states that about 300 kilograms of wood are required to proclaim a corpse, which costs around 10,000 rupees (Nepal Coronavirus Deaths). On an average, 18 dead bodies are burnt every day in a power-operated crematorium. Karki said, “The Nepal Army would bring the dead bodies and hand them over, but they have to give the fire to our workers only.” There are more than 9,000 cases of COVID-19 in Nepal in a single day, which has caused a health crisis in the country. Prohibitories have been in force in the past two weeks in more than 40 districts of Nepal. These include three districts of the Kathmandu Valley.
