1000 years ago a mysterious light was seen in space. Regarding which scientists of the University of California say that this was the third type of supernova explosion.

When a star ‘death’ occurs in the universe, there is usually a loud explosion, which is known as a supernova. For nearly 1000 years, such an event remained an unsolved puzzle for astronomers. At the same time, it is now believed that this puzzle has been solved. In fact, according to Nature Astronomy, the Crab Nebula was born after an explosion in a star. But this event was not caused by a star explosion or a thermonuclear explosion in a white dwarf star. Rather, there was a third reason behind this, which was yet to be known.
At the same time, scientists of the University of California have discovered a new type of supernova in Space. It has been named as Electron Capture Supernova. So far very little evidence has been found about this. But many reports have informed that there was a glimpse of light in 1054 AD, which must have emanated from the explosion of a star in the category of ‘Super-asymptotic giant branches’ (SAGB).
How does a third type of supernova happen?
In 1980, the University of Tokyo introduced the theory of a third type of supernova. It was said that oxygen, neon and magnesium would be present in the core of the third type of supernova. During this, the nuclei present in it would collide with each other, which was named as electron capture. When electrons were released, the core of the star was shattered by its own weight and then exploded.
Where was this supernova discovered?
Scientists believe that they have found evidence of the third category in the 2018zd supernova explosion in the galaxy NGC-2146, 31 million light-years away from Earth. This discovery has been made by Daiichi Hiramatsu, a graduate student of the University of California in Santa Barbara. It is considered an electron-capturing supernova, depending on the type of characteristics found in this explosion and its chemical composition.
