“Those who oppress and subjugate others will face divine justice,” the Archbishop of Canterbury will warn in his Easter sermon on Sunday morning.
While it might seem that “cruel and oppressive rulers” have gotten stronger, Justin Welby will say at Canterbury Cathedral that they are going to finally “vanish”.
Reflecting on the struggle in Ukraine and different conflicts around the globe, the Archbishop will inform congregants that “we must not lose heart” within the face of battle.
“Cruel and oppressive rulers might look as though they only get stronger,” he’ll say.
“Yet they are going to vanish: the facility of the resurrection is infinitely larger than they’re.
“Even in our lifetimes, as we are surrounded by fears, even by evil, we know that those who oppress and subjugate others will face divine justice.
“We know with certainty that insurance policies that trigger struggling and ache will fall away.
“We can say surely: all that seeks to deny God has no future – all that shares in the risen life of Jesus is eternal.”
