Mexico City. A horrific incident has come to light in Central Mexico. Where a total of 19 people have died in a shooting during a festival in the city of Las Tinajas in Michoacan state on Sunday. Whereas, many people have been injured. The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) has given this information in a statement.
Three women were among the dead
According to media reports, people called the officers to the scene at around 10:30 am (04:30 GMT Monday) after the news of the firing. FGE said in its statement that, 19 lifeless bodies (16 men and three women) were found, which had gunshot wounds. Several others have been injured and all have been sent to the hospital.
Search continues for accused
The office of Michoacan’s secretary of public security said on Twitter that, “federal officials are working to “find those responsible for the violent acts.” However, the officials did not specify the reason for the firing.

Last month, there was an attack in Michoacan, in which 17 people were killed. It was then believed that this attack was due to an ongoing dispute between the gangs. In this regard, Deputy Security Minister Ricardo Mejia said that, “This attack was carried out by a cell of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel out of revenge on other gangs.” At the same time, the government said that it could not confirm the death toll as no body was recovered from the spot. However, DNA samples of 11 potential victims were collected from the spot.
