Google CEO Sundar Pichai has answered some of the questions you always have to ask him. During an interview with the BBC, Pichai revealed how many phones he uses, how often he changes his password and other technical habits. The CEO of Google also said that there are attacks on free and open internet all over the world.
In an interview to BBC, Pichai revealed that he does not change his password frequently. He has advised users to opt for “two-factor authentication” instead of changing their passwords frequently. Two-factor authentication is safer than meddling with passwords over and over again. When you change passwords frequently, you often have trouble remembering them and you forget them. So it is always good to opt for two-factor authentication.
Sundar Pichai operates more than 20 phones
Pichai also revealed that he uses more than 20 phones at a time for different purposes. “I’m constantly changing and trying out every new phone, I’m testing it all the time,” he said. He also talked about why he allows his kids to browse videos on YouTube. Pichai said that it is important for the new generation to learn to adapt to the developing technology.
Free and open internet in danger
Pichai, who oversees Gmail, Google Chrome, Google Maps, Google Earth, Google Docs, Google Photos and Android OS, said the free and open internet is under attack. The Google CEO told the BBC: “I think a free and open Internet is a tremendous force and we take it somewhat lightly. Free and open internet is in danger all over the world. Pichai said that many countries are restricting information flow.
Google CEO’s comments come soon after India passed new IT regulations, last month Google published its monthly transparency report on compliance with the rules. However, the company has also argued that the new IT rules do not apply to Google’s search engine.
