New Delhi: Messaging app Telegram has rolled out a set of interesting features on the last day of 2021. Telegram has introduced an iMessage-like feature with an interesting feature to hide parts of text. This feature has been named Spoiler. Another important feature that the messaging app has got is the message translation feature, which is apparently a first in the messaging app. No other messaging app including WhatsApp, Signal has a message translation feature.
Message Reaction
Telegram users will now be able to react to messages through emoji. This feature is already available on iMessage, Facebook Messenger and Instagram but now Telegram will also get it. “Telegram was the first messaging app to add animated and interactive emoji, providing users with unique ways to express themselves in chat. Today some of these emojis become available as Reaction to share the emotion and reaction without sending any message,” the company said in a blog post.
To react to a message using emoji, all you have to do is long tap on a message to send a thumbs up reaction. To send another emoji, tap the message once and choose from the list of emoji you want to send. Reaction can be used in private chat, in groups and channels, admins decide whether or not to turn on Reaction and what reaction emoji are available in chat.

Spoiler
Using the spoiler feature, users can select any part of their text as they type and choose a new ‘spoiler’ formatting. When you select the spoiler option, the selected part of the message can be hidden in the chat.
Message Translation
Message translation is one of the most important features ever rolled out on the messaging app. Now users can translate any message directly in the app to any other language. You can activate message translation by going to Settings. Then the New Translate button is added to the context menu when the message is selected.
Users can remove any language from the translation that they usually use, which will remove the translation button from the message of that language. Translate is available on all Android devices that support Telegram but requires iOS 15+ on Apple devices. The list of available languages depends on your phone’s operating system.
