Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said at a parliamentary party meeting that there will be no place for dynasty politics in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and family-led political parties will continue to face challenges. The Mint quoted sources as saying that PM Modi further said that he takes the responsibility of not giving tickets to the children of party leaders in the recently concluded assembly elections.
According to ANI, the Prime Minister had said in the meeting, “Many Members of Parliament and party leaders were asking for tickets for their children in the recently concluded elections and many of them were denied. I didn’t get tickets for them, I have full responsibility for them.”
Sources say that he ensured that in the states where elections were held, tickets were denied by party leaders for several claims made for their children.
Sources quoted PM Modi as saying, “This message needs to reach the people that the politics of family and dynasty is not leading the country anywhere.” The Prime Minister made this statement in the BJP Parliamentary Party meeting held at Ambedkar Bhavan.
PM took responsibility for getting tickets for the children of leaders
